A CNC plasma cutting table is defined less by any single spec than by how well its working area, power range, and control system match the material you actually run day to day -- not the thickest plate the machine can theoretically handle.
Table Size vs Real Job Size
It's tempting to buy the largest table available, but working area should match your typical material size, not your largest ever job. Our P1325 covers a standard 1300 x 2500mm sheet -- the common size for HVAC and cabinet work -- while the P1530 steps up to 1500 x 3000mm for full-size structural plate. Buying more table than you need mostly adds floor space and cost without adding capability.
Plasma Power and Consumable Cost
Higher amperage cuts thicker material faster, but consumables (nozzles, electrodes) wear faster at higher current too. Matching the plasma power source to your actual thickness range, rather than over-specifying for occasional thick cuts, keeps consumable costs proportional to the work you're actually doing.
Torch Height Control Is Not Optional
Automatic torch height control (THC) compensates for plate warping in real time, keeping the standoff distance consistent across an uneven sheet. Without it, kerf width and cut quality drift as the plate's flatness varies -- which is common on hot-rolled plate straight from the mill. Both our P1325 and P1530 include THC as standard rather than an add-on, specifically because inconsistent standoff is one of the most common causes of poor plasma cut quality in the field.
Control System and Software
The control system determines how easily a new operator can get productive and how well the table integrates with your existing CAD/CAM workflow. A table that imports DXF/DSTV files directly and includes nesting software to minimize scrap will typically pay for the software investment within the first few larger jobs.
