Heavy-Duty Band Saws for Large Billets and Blocks
Heavy-duty band saws cut the sections a standard saw cannot: round billets from Ø700 to Ø1600 mm, blocks up to 1600 × 1600 mm, forgings, mold steel and whole bundles. They use 54–80 mm wide blades, 11–22 kW main motors, hydraulic blade tension and inverter blade speed.

Built for heavy work
Wide, thick blades
54 to 80 mm wide, 1.6 mm thick blades resist deflection in deep cuts.
Hydraulic blade tension
Constant blade tension through long cuts, standard on every model.
Double hydraulic vises
On HBS-850 and larger models, clamping on both sides of the blade holds the workpiece and the offcut.
Feeding platform
Set the stroke once and the platform positions each piece; strokes range from 1200 to 2000 mm.
Hydraulic saw-arm movement
HBS-850 and HBS-1600 move the saw arm hydraulically for heavy frames.
Screw chip conveyor
Removes the large chip volume from deep cuts automatically.
Typical uses
Forging shops cutting billets, mold-steel suppliers cutting blocks to order, steel service centers handling large rounds, and plants cutting bundles of bar in one pass.

Frequently asked questions
What is the largest section you can cut?
The PCL HBS-1600 cuts round billets up to Ø1600 mm and blocks up to 1600 × 1600 mm, using a 14300 × 80 × 1.6 mm blade and a 22 kW main motor.
Do heavy-duty saws need a special foundation?
These machines weigh 6 to 27 tonnes, so they need a level concrete floor that can carry the load. Ask us for the foundation drawing of the model you are considering.
How is the material fed?
Most models use a feeding platform with a set stroke of 1200–2000 mm. HBS-850 and HBS-1600 use a 3 m powered roller rack.
How is a heavy workpiece held?
HBS-850, HBS-1000, HBS-1200 and HBS-1600 clamp with double hydraulic vises, one on each side of the blade, so both the workpiece and the offcut are held.
Which materials are these saws used for?
Carbon and alloy steel billets, forgings, mold steel blocks, large tube and bundles of bar. Blade speed is adjusted by inverter for each material.
