Portable CNC Plasma Cutter
A portable CNC cutter is a light carriage and cross-arm that runs on an aluminum track laid on the plate. It carries a plasma or oxy-fuel torch and cuts the shapes in its control, so you can profile plate on site, in a small workshop or on plate too large to move. With plasma it cuts 12–25 mm depending on the source, and the machine runs on AC 220 V or 380 V (±15%). Prices start from USD 1,200 FOB Qingdao.

How it works
- Lay the trackPlace the track on the plate or on the floor beside it; the carriage runs along it.
- Load the shapeChoose a shape from the shape library in the control, or load a cutting program.
- Set the torchFit the plasma or oxy-fuel torch and set the height and speed for the plate.
- CutThe carriage moves along the track while the cross-arm moves the torch across it, cutting the shape.
Portable cutter or plasma table?
Portable cutter
- Lowest price of any CNC cutting machine
- Carry it to the plate: site work, shipyards, steel yards
- Fits in a small workshop and needs no foundation
- Slower to set up for each job and lighter duty
Plasma table
- Fixed bed with a water or down-draft table for fume control
- Faster loading and higher accuracy all day
- Better for regular production of nested parts
- See the P1325 and the 1500 × 3000 mm tables
Typical work
Steel structure sites
Base plates and gussets cut where the steel is.
Shipyards and repair shops
Large plates that are hard to move to a table.
Small fabrication shops
A first CNC machine before a full table.
Flanges and gears
Round parts and profiles from the shape library, like the gear in the photo.
What your workshop needs
- Electrical supply: AC 220 V or 380 V (±15%). Tell us your local voltage and frequency (50 or 60 Hz) before we build the machine.
- Clean, dry compressed air: an air compressor with a refrigerated dryer and filters. We give the flow and pressure for the plasma source you choose.
- A level concrete floor and space to load full sheets with a forklift or crane.
- Fume control: a water table or a down-draft table with an extraction fan, depending on the model.
- A Windows PC for nesting software such as FastCAM, to turn DXF drawings into cutting programs.
Shipping, installation and support
Free production layout
Send your parts list or shop drawing and our engineers suggest the machine size, plasma source and table layout before you order.
Packed for sea freight
Machines are packed for container shipping. We quote to your nearest port in South America, Africa or elsewhere and prepare the export documents.
Installation and training
Remote installation guidance and operator training are included. On-site commissioning can be arranged.
Remote diagnostics
Our team supports the control, the plasma source and the nesting software remotely, so most problems are solved without waiting for a visit.
Get a configuration and price
Send the material, the thickest plate or largest pipe you cut, your sheet or pipe size and how many hours a day the machine will run. An engineer replies with the right portable cutter configuration, the options and a price delivered to your port.
Frequently asked questions
How thick can the portable CNC cutter cut?
With plasma, 12–25 mm depending on the plasma source. With an oxy-fuel torch it cuts thicker carbon steel; tell us your plate and we confirm.
What power supply does it need?
AC 220 V or 380 V, ±15%.
How much does it cost?
From USD 1,200 FOB Qingdao for the standard machine. The plasma source, track length and options are quoted separately.
Can it cut stainless steel?
Yes with a plasma torch. Oxy-fuel cuts carbon steel only.
When should I choose a plasma table instead?
When you cut nested parts every day, want fume control and faster loading, or need higher accuracy over a full shift.
