CNC Circular Cold Saws for Bar and Tube
A CNC circular cold saw cuts solid bar and thick-wall tube with a carbide-tipped (TCT) blade, finishing each cut in seconds with ±0.1 mm accuracy on most models and a narrow 2.0–4.0 mm kerf. PCL CS saws cut round bar from Ø10 to Ø300 mm and run unattended from a 6 m hydraulic loading rack.

Blade thickness equals the kerf width. CS-300 blade speed is given as surface speed. Weight for CS-300 on request. Prices are indicative EXW ranges in USD for the standard configuration. Options, voltage, packing and freight are quoted separately.
How the machine works
Servo and ball-screw feeding
The bar is fed by servo motor and precision ball screw on linear guides, giving repeatable lengths from 3 mm upward.
Rigid saw head on the CS-300
The gearbox runs ground, heat-treated gears with backlash control, and a blade stabiliser reduces vibration so the TCT teeth last longer.
Cast bed on the CS-300
The CS-300 bed is a single HT250 iron casting rather than a welded frame, for rigidity and damping in Ø300 mm cuts.
Micro-lubrication
Nozzles spray a measured amount of cutting oil onto the teeth and both blade faces, cutting heat and keeping the cut face clean.
Automatic sorting
A pneumatic sorter separates bar heads and tails from good parts as they come off the saw.
Alarms and chip removal
On the CS-300, faults in hydraulics, coolant spray or air pressure, or an empty rack, trigger an alarm and a controlled stop. A chip conveyor clears chips continuously.
Material requirements (CS-300 specification)
- Straightness: within 3 mm per metre
- Tensile strength: up to 1200 N/mm²
- Hardness: up to HRC35
- Bar ends flat, with no flanging, tilting or dents
Typical uses
Forging blanks, automotive and motorcycle parts, bearing rings, hydraulic fittings, fasteners and any high-volume bar cutting before turning or forging. For larger sections, see the heavy-duty band saws.

Frequently asked questions
How fast is a circular cold saw?
As a guide from the standard configuration: the CS-60 makes about 4 cuts per minute in Ø60 mm bar, the CS-80 about 4 cuts per minute in Ø75 mm bar, and the CS-150 about 2 cuts per minute in Ø150 mm bar. Actual time depends on material grade.
What materials can it cut?
Carbon steel, alloy steel and other bar. The CS-300 is specified for material up to 1200 N/mm² tensile strength and HRC35 hardness, and the bar should be straight within 3 mm per metre with flat ends and no flanging or dents.
How much material is lost per cut?
The kerf equals the blade thickness: 2.0 mm on the CS-60 and CS-80, rising to 4.0 mm on the CS-300. A remnant (tail) of about 70–180 mm is left at the end of each bar depending on model.
Can it run without an operator?
Yes. Bars are loaded onto a 6 m hydraulic-lifting rack, then fed by servo and ball screw, cut, and sorted automatically; heads and tails are separated from good parts. On the CS-300 an alarm stops the machine if hydraulic, coolant or air pressure fails or the bar runs out.
Band saw or circular cold saw for Ø100 mm bar?
If you cut a few pieces a day, a band saw costs less. If you cut hundreds or thousands of pieces, the circular saw's speed and ±0.1 mm accuracy usually justify the higher investment.
